Christmas Social

Come celebrate with us Thursday, December 13th from 6 - 7 p.m. at the Relief Society Christmas Social.  We will be meeting in the Relief Society room.  Take a break from the holiday hustle and bustle to visit (and eat) with your friends.  We will be having a Christmas message, a cookie swap and a hot chocolate bar!  Please bring a plate of your favorite Christmas cookies along with the recipe to share.  If you aren't able to bring cookies, please come anyway!  We will also have packaging, ribbon, and gift tags so you can wrap up some cookies to take to your VT sisters, neighbors or ward friends that couldn't make it.  Should be a fun night!

There WILL be a nursery for those who need to bring their children.

Family Home Evening Ideas

Ward Temple Day

What a great way to spend a Saturday morning!  We hope you'll all join us for the 10 a.m. session at the SL Temple for our Ward Temple Day on November 17th.

FREE things to do at Super Saturday

Didn't get a chance to sign up for the paid crafts?  There is still PLENTY for you to do at the Super Saturday... and they are FREE (mostly).

11 a.m. Knitting Dish Towels -- we will have cotton yarn available but you may not like the colors.
You can purchase your own skein of yarn (Peaches & Creme and Lyons brands work best) and bring your own 6 or 7" hook.
1 p.m. Caramel Making

- Participate in the ongoing service project (we will be preparing treats and cards for ladies in the neighborhood)

- Join us for lunch at 12 noon

- Make one of our FREE crafts: paperclip earrings, paper ornaments, and upcycle T-Shirt Accessories (bring your own XL or XXL t-shirt)

Presents, favors, and decor... in a jar!

FREE class

Get inspired to spice up your gifting this holiday season.  Find ideas for everyone on your list -- from kids to neighbors to your best friend.  You will learn how to package clever, practical and inexpensive gifts in jars so lovely that your recipients won't want to open the contents!  Enter to win several of the display jars and come hungry to sample delicious party favors.  This class will include demonstrations, tastings and a game plan with recipes and contents lists, so you can create your very own gifts in jars.

Knitting Dish Towels
with Charmaine Roper

Looking to make a handmade Christmas gift?  Get back to the basics and knit a dish towel to give to a friend...or to keep for yourself!  Beginners will learn basic knitting theory via hands-on practice and instruction from Charmaine.  Seasoned knitters can knit their own dish towels, help mentor the newbies or bring their own knitting from home to finish.  The class is free, but you will need to bring your own materials: size 6 or 7 knitting needles and a skein of cotton yarn - preferably Peaches & Creme or Lyon brands (can be purchased at Walmart for less than $5.00).   There will be extra yarn there, but you may not like the colors so we suggest you bring your own.

Caramel Making

Create a decadent surprise this holiday season with homemade caramel!  Ashley had a caramel apple business in Virginia for 2 years.  She will be sharing her expertise and teaching how to make caramel from scratch... for all your desserts from ice cream sundaes to caramel apples!  You will take home ideas that will impress your family when you make your own sweet treats.  Of course, there will be samples - and this is our dessert after lunch - so you won't want to miss it!

Trunk or Treat

Come join us for our ward's annual Trunk or Treat at the church on Halloween at 6 p.m.  It's a great tradition for the neighborhood and everyone is invited!  There will be dinner, a costume parade, and trunk or treating so deck out your trunks and bring treats to share!

Thank you to those who came to our Friendship Express evening last night and for those who brought appetizers/desserts to share.  The food was wonderful and so was the company!

Church Clean-up

It is the Relief Society's turn to clean-up the church building this Saturday, 10/20.  Please meet us at the church at 8 a.m.  Many hands make light work!

Friendship Activity

Our 3rd Thursday weekday activity is being postponed one week due to UEA vacation.  Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 25th.  It's going to be an evening of fun, food, and friendshipping!  Invite your ward friends and neighbors!
