WHO WE ARE
We are excited to announce our theme for the Brickyard Relief Society for 2013: "Who We Are." Our desire is for each sister to better understand, as the Relief Society Declaration proclaims, that she is a beloved spirit daughter of God, and her life has meaning, purpose, and direction.
As a presidency, we have prayerfully chosen a series of goals for the year to work towards, both individually and as a group. Our prayer is that each sister that participates will develop a deeper understanding of how Heavenly Father feels about her and gain a greater capacity to share that love with others. We are grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ and His example. The monthly goals are related to our discipleship as well as the four-fold mission of the Church. Although each goal is simple, we know the affects can be profound. We know it will help us reach outside ourselves and many lives will be blessed. As daughters of God, we recognize our capacity for good is boundless. Whether you are able to attend Relief Society or not, we invite you to join us.
JANUARY"I am a FRIEND, a good neighbor.
Monthly Goal: Consistently pray for the sisters you visit teach. If you are not currently a visiting teacher, feel free to adapt the goal to pray for a friend or loved one.
We also invite you that each week you fulfill this goal, you come to the Relief Society room and add a jewel to our "Who Am I?" jar. We will be working all year to fill it to capacity as we learn more about what it means to be the daughter of a King... and then we'll earn a great reward! Are you wondering what we are talking about? Come and see!

Family Home Evening Ideas
A few weeks ago, Cori Larsen gave a wonderful lesson in Relief Society about strengthening families. We briefly discussed how Family Home Evening plays an important role in bringing families together. Due to time constraints, our discussion was cut short; however, Cori has provided some resources that will help you with your own family home evenings. If you have any other suggestions to share, please contact me or leave a comment and I will post them here.

Super Saturday Classes
Here is some more information on the awesome classes we have planned for the Super Saturday.
10 a.m. - Primary Room
Presents, favors, and decor... in a jar!
with Becky Wickstrom
FREE class
11 a.m. - YM/YW Room
Knitting Dish Towels
with Charmaine Roper
FREE, but bring your own materials (see below)
Looking to make a handmade Christmas gift? Get back to the basics and knit a dish towel to give to a friend...or to keep for yourself! Beginners will learn basic knitting theory via hands-on practice and instruction from Charmaine. Seasoned knitters can knit their own dish towels, help mentor the newbies or bring their own knitting from home to finish. The class is free, but you will need to bring your own materials: size 6 or 7 knitting needles and a skein of cotton yarn - preferably Peaches & Creme or Lyon brands (can be purchased at Walmart for less than $5.00). There will be extra yarn there, but you may not like the colors so we suggest you bring your own.
1 p.m. - Relief Society Room
Caramel Making
with Ashley Gay
FREE class
Create a decadent surprise this holiday season with homemade caramel! Ashley had a caramel apple business in Virginia for 2 years. She will be sharing her expertise and teaching how to make caramel from scratch... for all your desserts from ice cream sundaes to caramel apples! You will take home ideas that will impress your family when you make your own sweet treats. Of course, there will be samples - and this is our dessert after lunch - so you won't want to miss it!
